A few weeks ago i had the idea that it might be fun to photograph peoples secrets. With the help of a nice little facebook blog post and an honesty box i soon had secrets coming in at overwhelming amounts. I can honestly say i never expected this many people to send in secrets, I'm so excited to be doing this project and i hope it helps some people feel better about things they've been hiding. I feel like its giving a voice to everyone in this school who thought their ideas and thoughts were going unnoticed.

This is one of the best ideas i've had in a while im really proud of it :]

Day 3, random acts of cupcakes

So.. Funny story behind these cupcakes.
Today a bunch of friends and i decided to go to my house after school and bake some cupcakes for fun. When we were taking the bus home there was a couple freshmen boys who were sort of staring at us and when they got of they were like "Bye girls!" and then they kinda watched us when we walked home. SO since they lived on my block for a while i knew where theyre house is since its only a few houses away from mine, we decided we would bring them some of the shorewood themed cupcakes we made. hahah it was great, We were walking up their driveway and they opened the door before we could even ring it and all i managed to say was " HI! ...WE BROUGHT YOU CUPCAKES...WELCOME TO SHOREWOOD! " and then he said thanks, took the cupcakes, and closed the door.

Dolores's Sweet 16

Yesterday i threw dolores a sweet 16 fiesta at my house. It was fun!
We had a taco bar, and Ky and i baked a cake for dolores with a bunch of flowers we made out of marzipan. Then we played apples to apples in my trampoline, watched for bats and attempted to roast marshmallow in our pathetic fire. I've been in a pretty lousy mood lately so this cheered me up a lot :]

Hi blog! i missed you!

SO, as you might have noticed i've got a bit into sorta surreal-ish, bright, colorful self portraits. Im not really all into the ''self'' part of it cause it makes it very difficult to operate a camera when you can only have a 10 second self timer. Needless to-say i do alot of running back and forth. I wish i had someone to be a model for me but somehow i dont think people are into the whole ''pretend like your conversing with a stuffed polar bear'' thing. I dont know, i guess i'll just have to compromise my own sanity a until i get some volunteers.

I think i reason i may have given this blog up is because i couldn't *edit* like i used to with my school laptop. While i still use iPhoto its a really old really SLOW version. I've started editing on flickr ,which though limited with just a basic account, seems to do the job. I cannot stress the importance of editing, EXAMPLE.

See how much nicer!? Perhaps a tad too bright but still, it beats the original.

Im sorry to announce that i've missed countless days of this project. Somewhere along the way summer just got in the way and i wanted to enjoy instead of having to always worry about what my picture would be. But dont worry i've still taken hundreds of pictures these first few weeks of summer alone. I cant promise i'll be good about updating this blog but i will try to post fun photoshoots like the one above.

Today has been terrible.
My toe has hurt really bad for the last couple days but i figured it was just like a 'no big deal i just clipped my nails to short' sort of thing. WRONG.
My toe got really infected and hurt to walk on and it ended up making my entire foot, and my ankle swell up.
So today my mom took me to the podiatrist and they did an emergency surgery thing. I had to have a crap load of anastesia numbing stuff injected in to my big toe and it hurt so bad! But they ended up cutting off like the side of my nail so it wolnt get infected again. And the doctor said if i had waited a day later i would have had to go to the emergency room and have a bunch of IV's stuck in me because i had a blood infection and it was going to spread to my joints. OH, and also, now im at risk of catching mersa because i have an open wound, and people die from mersa.

The doctor said i shouldnt go to school tommorrow but i atleast have to go to 3rd period because of my stupid math final :[

So basically i have to wear this horriblly ugly, stupid boot that makes me look like a complete tool for the next week or so. It sucks. Im really mad about it because i wanted to wear cute sandals and this is cramping my style.

Im sorta pissed.

Just a whole lot of things from the past few days! Its getting hard to update since my home computer takes ages to upload photos.

Anyway, among these are a cool peacock stenciled shirt i made today, it took hours! I had to do so many layers but i really love how it turned out. Also theres a few pictures of a silver swallow necklace i made in jewelry class at school, i love jewelry class, its my favorite by far.
The picture of the tree is from a house down the street, A giant elm tree branch cracked off and broke their fence!

I did relay for life the first time this weekend. It was literally amazing, and i never use that word. It was probably the best weekend of the year, i stayed up ALL night walking,singing,hanging out with friends, playing on bouncy houses, watching movies and eating chowder at midnight. It was great! Im going to do it next year for sure.

Today i went to the zoo with chelsea and her mom. I LOVE THE ZOO! We got to see basically every animal there, and i even saw a peacock sitting on top of a barn! The giraffes are my favorite! They're soo cute :]

I went to the lakeside rummage sale today, basically the best sale of the year because its a ton of rich families junk! It take up about 3 of their school buildings, but anyway i got a bunch of paper lanterns to use at my birthday! They were only a buck each, and the long one is SO big, its about 3 times longer than my dog, its the biggest lantern i've ever seen. I also got a helium tank for only 4 dollars, im not sure how full it is but if it works thats freaking sweet since most helium tanks are like 24 dollars.
